Woodhouse Contracting recently completed a full tenant fit-out for the new BackRoads Brews + Shoes retail location at Station Park in Kitchener. The project included a 1,890 sq.ft. main floor and a new 540 sq.ft. mezzanine, bringing the finished space to approximately 2,430 sq. ft.

BackRoads combines a specialty running store with an in-store taproom and space for community events. The layout needed dedicated areas for shoes, apparel, and running gear while also providing comfortable places for people to meet over coffee or a beer.

Our team managed and coordinated the build-out through to completion. The scope included new partitions and finishes, custom millwork, lighting, flooring and painting, along with the required plumbing, electrical, mechanical and fire-protection work.

Our team also constructed a new 540 sq. ft. mezzanine, creating additional room for customers and community gatherings without reducing the open retail floor below. Full-height windows bring natural light throughout the space, making it a big and bright place to hang out before or after a run.
