Woodhouse Group Breaks Ground on 12 New Rental Townhomes in Midtown Kitchener

Kitchener, ON — Woodhouse Group is proud to announce that it has broken ground on a new residential development at 54 Mount Hope Street. The project will bring 12 two-bedroom stacked rental townhomes to Midtown Kitchener, adding much-needed housing in an established, conveniently located neighbourhood.
Previously home to a single-family residence, the property is close to Belmont Village, the hospital, the LRT, and many major employers in the region. The development will make better use of the site while giving more people the opportunity to live close to work, transit, and everyday amenities.
“For Woodhouse, projects like 54 Mount Hope are about more than just constructing buildings,” said Joe Woodhouse, Chief Executive Officer at Woodhouse Group. “They’re about investing in our community, creating much-needed housing and finding opportunities to make better use of properties in locations where people already want to live.”

The rental townhomes will offer approximately 870 to 1,117 square feet of finished living space with fully equipped kitchens, ensuite bathrooms, in-unit laundry and private balconies. Residents will also have individually controlled heating and cooling, keyless entry, WiFi bundled into their rent, and designated vehicle and bicycle parking.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought members of the Woodhouse team and project partners together to recognize the planning, design, and coordination that have helped move the development from concept to construction.

Woodhouse would like to thank UP Consulting, Orchard Design Studio and Canada ICI for joining the team to celebrate the groundbreaking.
Thank you also to mcCallumSather, Collins Engineering Group, Meritech Engineering, Centric Engineering, Hill Design Studio, Mighton Engineering and Deep Reach, along with the consultants, suppliers and skilled tradespeople contributing to the project. A big thank you also to Team Woodhouse for the care, coordination and hard work that have helped bring 54 Mount Hope from concept to construction.
As construction gets underway, Woodhouse also extends a special thank you to the neighbours for their patience and understanding.
“We take seriously the fact that we’re building in an existing neighbourhood, and we want this development to ultimately be a positive addition to the community,” Woodhouse said.
Construction is currently expected to be completed in Fall 2027.
