Woodhouse Contracting Transforms Former Subscribers’ Lounge into Club 51 Sports Bar at The Aud

Kitchener, ON — Woodhouse Contracting is proud to share that it has completed the transformation of the former Subscribers’ Lounge at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium (The Aud) into Club 51 Sports Bar.
The renovation is the latest in a series of projects Woodhouse has completed for the City of Kitchener and the Kitchener Rangers to improve facilities and enhance the experience for players and fans at The Aud.
Named after the year The Aud opened in 1951, Club 51 brings a modern take on the classic sports bar to the historic venue as it celebrates 75 years of community, sport, and tradition.
Club 51 celebrated its grand opening last night and is now open to the public seven days a week, from 11:30am to 11pm. The restaurant operates on both event and non-event days at The Aud, and can also be booked for private events.
“The Aud has been part of so many memorable moments for people in this region,” said Joe Woodhouse, Chief Executive Officer at Woodhouse Group. “We’re proud to have played a role in creating a space that will be part of that experience for years to come.”

As prime contractor, Woodhouse Contracting managed the full construction process, coordinating the work of consultants, suppliers, and trade partners. Director of Construction Jason Boyer credits the team’s close collaboration for the project's success.
“Transforming an existing space into a restaurant involves bringing many different components together,” Boyer said. “We’re very pleased with the care and craftsmanship our project team brought to the finished space.”

Woodhouse would like to thank the City of Kitchener, The Aud, the Kitchener Rangers, Rolleman Restaurant Group, NEO Architecture, and DFY Studios, as well the consultants, suppliers, and skilled tradespeople involved in the project. Their combined efforts have created a space that builds on The Aud’s history and gives the community another way to enjoy the venue for years to come.
